INVOLVED IN REAL ESTATE

Los Angeles Bankruptcy

. That's what heading was on the lawyers site. I have to admit we were scared. We had moved out here five years ago from Chicago, and we had no intention of getting involved in real estate. We could only afford the smallest, most wrecked house in a solid subdivision, and thought not a thing about flipping it for something better, until we got an offer to buy it out of nowhere, and the offer was for thirty percent more than what we has paid for it just a year earlier. We thought that the lady making the offer was just crazy, and told her that we were here to stay. Not long after, another offer came through. It was for about thirty five percent more. This one we didn't pass up. We wanted to move closer to our jobs, the driving being what it is in Los Angeles. We walked away with a nice sum of money for nearly no effort. We had not yet put much into the house, because we weren't sure how long we would be staying. We had to live somewhere, and we found a modest house about twenty minutes from our jobs. We paid what we thought was a little too much for it, but we wanted a shorter commute. It turned out that we soon rented that house.
